Today the European riders will fight for the stared jersey, as the European Championships takes place in the French commune of Plouay. Three Riwal Securitas riders will participate in the elite event today, namely Nick van der Lijke for the Dutch squad, and the two Swedes Kim Magnusson and Lucas Eriksson.

“I’m very happy to get the chance to show myself and of course to put on the national jersey is always something special”, says Nick van der Lijke, who will be working for his captain Mathieu van der Poel to take a medal.

“I feel good at the moment and done some good training the last couple of weeks, so hopefully it will pay off! My expectations are to ride a good race for the team. We have a guy who can win the race in van der Poel, so he will be the guy to play out”, ends Nick van der Lijke.

Sweden starts today’s race with three riders, two of which are Riwal Securitas riders. The Swedish Champion, Lucas Eriksson, rode his first race since the corona-break in last week’s Tour de Wallonie, while Magnusson has yet to restart his 2020-season.
