The young Danish rider Jesper Schultz has signed a neo-pro contract with Riwal Readynez Cycling Team running in 2020-2021. The Dane, who has ridden at Danish continental level, is excited to take the step up to the professional ranks with the team.
“It’s every cyclist’s first big goal, when you start with the sport. I’m really looking forward to becoming a part of the team, especially as it gets more and more international. There are many great riders there, and I’m excited about proving my worth at the professional level”, says Jesper Schultz.
As with many young riders Jesper Schultz is still working to figure out his exact forces - though tough races with hills and mountains seems to be his terrain of choice - but when it comes to his role and expectations to his upcoming years with Riwal Readynez, he’s very clear.
“I’ve signed a 2-year contract, so the first year is mostly about learning. If an opportunity arises to chase a personal result, I’ll do everything I can to deliver, but mainly I look forward to a role as a man of the team.”
“Right now, I look forward to meeting the team and everyone involved with this project, and I’m also very excited about getting started with racing next year. I’m longing to get to test myself in the mountains and hopefully I get to ride some cool races in 2020.”
