Norwegian rider August Jensen has signed a one-year contract with the team for the upcoming season making him the fourth rider from Norway on Riwal Readynez Cycling Team in 2020.
”I’m really looking forward to next year. I think it’s an interesting team, and I enjoy the Scandinavian feel of it, which is something I missed at Israel Cycling Academy, though it was a nice place to be”, says August Jensen about his transfer.
The 28-year-old joins the team after two years on the Israeli team together with Sondre Holst Enger, who also joins Riwal Readynez in 2020.
“From talking to the sports directors and other guys on the team, I got really good vibes from it, and I know a couple of the other riders as well. My two years with Israel was good, but it’s two different cultures in terms of training and how to run a team. Not that it’s a negative of course, but I think the Scandinavian way suits me better.”
With several great results in small GC races as well as one-day races, August describes himself as a man for the classics with great capabilities as a puncheur in tough terrains and can even climb to a certain point in the lesser ranked races.
“I’m very motivated and look forward to be targeting and hopefully delivering some personal results next year. The Norwegian races like Tour of Norway and Arctic Race have a special place in my heart, so I really want to do well there, but also the one-day races in Belgium and the Netherlands. Hopefully we will race Brabantse Pijl again!”, ends August Jensen.
