22 year old Dane, Andreas Kron, has signed a contract with the Belgian WorldTour-team, Lotto Soudal, for the coming season. After 4 years with the Riwal-team, two of which has been on Procontinental level, Kron is excited for what he sees to be the next natural step in his career.

“I’m really looking forward to be riding with Lotto Soudal. It’s a big step and I’m still young, but I think it’s a good moment in my development after 4 years with Riwal”, says Andreas Kron.

“Lotto Soudal has a big focus on my development as a rider and person as well, which is also the reason why I went in that direction. They seem to have a solid plan for where to go, and it matches very well with where I see myself.”

Andreas Kron has showed increased prowess in the tougher races and has gotten better and better in the hilly Ardennes-like terrain, last seen in the Belgian 2.Pro-race Tour de Wallonie, where he influenced the race with a big attack on the GC on the last stage.

“It’s the hilly classics and maybe the week-long stage races, that I want to excel at. Time will tell where I end, but Lotto Soudal are willing to give me both space and time to develop, and allow for ups and downs, which are inevitable for an athlete to go through. They won’t put unnecessary pressure on me - the biggest pressure will come from myself.”
