This season’s first races for Riwal Readynez Cycling Team in Sweden and Norway resulted in a 1st, 2nd, 2nd, and 4th place when Rasmus Bøgh Wallin won the Swedish race ’Scandinavian Race in Uppsala’ - where Jonas Aaen was 2nd and Nicolai Brøchner 4th - and Sindre Lunke fought his way to a 2nd place in Sundvolden GP in Norway.
”We were definitely the biggest and strongest team here, so it’s great that we managed to show that as well in the result lists. The team worked super great today and we’re very satisfied”, says directeur sportif René Jacobsen after Scandinavian Race in Uppsala.
After several hours of breakaway attempts a five-man group managed to get away with Rasmus Bøgh Wallin and Kim Magnusson representing Riwal Readynez. With no one in the peloton able to close the gap the minutes grew in the breakaways favor. With 2 laps of 15 km to go, Bøgh Wallin attacked and won the race in a solo finish.
“We wanted to get more of our guys up in front, so Jonas Aaen attacked from the peloton, went straight past the remaining guys from the breakaway and came in 2nd. Nicolai Brøchner won the sprint from the larger group and was 4th”, ends René Jacobsen.
It almost came to a double win when Norwegian Sindre Lunke finished 2nd in Sundvolden GP in Norway. The Riwal Readynez rider rode off in a 13-man group halfway through the race and went on the attack 2 km from the line on the 5 km mountain finish.
“We came to try and win with Sindre, which almost succeeded. He rode smartly and was one of the strongest”, says directeur sportif Michael Blaudzun. “We followed our plan throughout the day and can only be satisfied with the day. It was an impressive ride by Sindre and we’re looking forward to tomorrow’s Ringerike GP, because we’re ready.”
