The casual teamwear of Riwal Readynez Cycling Team is this year sponsored by the French fashion brand Le Coq Sportif through a partnership with the Danish company GETRO a/s, who works as distributors of various brands of clothes in Denmark.
“We hope to achieve some exposure to the public eye through the partnership with Riwal Readynez Cycling Team, whilst this deal also stems from being loyal to the history of the brand of Le Coq Sportif”, says CEO and founder of GETRO a/s, Palle Rasmussen.
Le Coq Sportif was founded in 1882 and in 1929 created a jersey specifically for cyclists. In 1951 they entered the biggest arena in the sport and became the official supplier of cycling jerseys for the Tour de France.
“It’s a brand born from French cycling, and other than supplying ASO with jerseys, they have a partnership with the Spanish top tier team Movistar Team. As the distributor of Le Coq Sportif in Denmark, we wanted to follow their strategies, so this partnership with Riwal Readynez Cycling Team is very exciting for us.”
In 2012 Le Coq Sportif reentered their sponsorship of the Tour de France jerseys and have just extended that deal with another five years. The company have the pleasure of providing this year’s anniversary leaders jersey that marks the 100th year since the first yellow jersey was worn in 1919.
“People who has a background or history in cycling know Le Coq Sportif as a brand, that has always been there. This year they’ll supply ASO with a yellow jersey, a new design for every stage, that tells the story of the old days. Our interest in cycling is a wish of being loyal to Le Coq Sportif’s involvement in that story”, ends CEO and founder of GETRO a/s, Palle Rasmussen.
