The Italian one-day race, Trofeo Laigueglia, has been an annual part of the cycling calendar since 1964 and the race in 2019 will be the 56th edition. The race is held in Liguria, located in the north-western part of Italy, and is a part of the UCI Europe Tour as a 1.HC-race, which it has been since it was upgraded in 2015.
Great classics riders throughout the times have won the race, namely Eddy Merckx, Johan Museeuw, Freddy Maertens, Roger de Vlaeminck, Michele Bartoli and our own Rolf Sørensen (twice), just to name a few, whilst Italian Filippo Pozzato holds the record of three wins.
